ATLANTA – Manheim locations in North America will recognize National Auto Auction Week, Aug. 20-24. Sponsored by the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA), the week was established to increase awareness about the significant contributions made by the auto auction industry to the national economy and local communities. In support, Manheim plans to create awareness with customers about this special industry week on its social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.

“On behalf of the entire Manheim team, I would like to thank our customers, partners and dedicated employees for their commitment to advance the auction industry,” said Sandy Schwartz, president of Manheim. “As the auction industry continues to evolve, NAAA represents an important voice to its members, its customers and auction employees.”

Manheim not only represents 69 auction locations in North America, but also partners with 153 independent auto auctions to remarket vehicles through OVE.com, its 24/7 bid or buy now wholesale vehicle marketplace. Manheim locations have served customers and communities for nearly 67 years, and its employees continue to give back through charity involvement, conservation efforts and economic contributions.

“National Auto Auction Week is a terrific opportunity to thank the many individuals that contribute to the success of wholesale auto auctions,” said Jay Cadigan, market vice president at

Manheim and chairman of the board for NAAA. “This week is about recognizing the strength of our industry and the immense value auto auctions provide.”

Born from the entrepreneurial spirit meeting a consumer need during the Great Depression, the auto auction industry has grown to become a vital part of North America’s commerce, according to NAAA. Last year, NAAA members sold 7.66 million vehicles worth $73 billion in gross revenue.
