Automated imaging company Black Widow has named information technology industry leader Darren Kemper as chief operating officer, the company announced in a news release on Oct. 12.
Kemper will assume responsibilities of the daily operations of Black Widow and report to Black Widow CEO Jason Hauk. Black Widow offers a drive-through camera system that captures consistent high-quality images and a 360-degree virtual tour within seconds, reducing labor costs while increasing the speed of vehicles to market.
Kemper brings more than 20 years of information technology software engineering and organizational experience to his new role. He most recently served as director of business analytics at auction behemoth ADESA, where he worked with leadership to develop and implement business management tools and lead several of ADESA’s transformational programs and projects. At Black Widow he will ensure that human resources and technology are poised to scale the company to meet current and future demand.
“Darren’s exceptional organizational skills, adept knowledge of the technology that drives our business and his balanced demeanor makes him the perfect person to position Black Widow where it needs to be to meet today’s client technology and exceptional service requirements,” said Hauk in the news release.
Through high end 4k image technology, the company advances marketing and efficiency at auctions, dealers, conditioning facilities, rental car companies and OEM’s while enhancing the quality, consistency, and product speed to market, ultimately increasing product value and reducing labor costs.
“I am thrilled about working with such a talented team at a time when the demand for Black Widow services is at an all-time high," Kemper said in the release. "Technology never sleeps and neither do the demands of the marketplace or our customers. Black Widow has already changed our space. Now we are at the place in our company’s journey where our operational efficiency, human resources and technological infrastructure needs to scale to lead the imaging arena so that clients can exceed their customer expectations.”
