America’s Auto Auction Atlanta is recognizing Jim Ivey, the auction’s fleet/lease manager, with America’s Auto Auction Spotlight Award.
Ivey joined the auction team in 2005 as the operations manager, a significant change from his previous work in software sales, the auction said. He enjoyed the customer interaction, thrived on the fast pace of the auction industry, and quickly knew he’d found his life’s work.
“Jim Ivey is one who absolutely goes above and beyond the call of duty here at America’s Auto Auction Atlanta,” says General Manager Corey Sanford. “Not only is he on top of every detail in his own department, but he is always ready to lend a hand wherever he is needed. There’s no one more competent, trustworthy or friendly. He can find common ground with anyone he comes in contact with, from his fellow employees, to national account representatives, to the many dealers we do business with.”.
“The wholesale auction business is exciting and challenging, something like a cross between being a stock broker and an air traffic controller,” says Ivey. “I enjoy every minute of it, but what I appreciate the most are the relationships I’ve developed along the way, with our customers and the members of our auction team.
In 2010 he was promoted to fleet/lease manager and has headed that department ever since.
“Jim Ivey executes at the highest standard,” says Tammy Swofford, national sales director at America’s Auto Auction. “He knows the industry inside and out, is well-respected by his peers, his fellow employees and his customers, all of whom consider him a friend.”
