This year, remarketing professionals descended onto Marco Island, Fla. to attend the 2018 International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) Summer Roundtable.

Following last year’s record-breaking attendance, the 2018 Summer Roundtable once again saw high attendance, nearly breaking last year's record.

This year’s Roundtable had a packed schedule full of networking, sessions covering today’s hot-topic remarketing issues as well as the future of remarketing.

Bob Griese, the former quarterback of the only team to complete a perfect undefeated season presented this year’s opening keynote address. In his presentation, he touched on business from a high level perspective.

Felipe Smolka, executive vice president of transformation at LeasePlan USA provided the executive presentation for the event. As the person who’s leading the strategy to drive modernization and innovation within his company and its U.S. operations, Smolka provided valuable insight into the steps needed to ensure business are successful as the industry continues to evolve.

The IARA also awarded its annual Circle of Excellence award to Chuck Novince, a former VP at Manheim before his retirement last year, during this year’s event. The IARA Circle of Excellence Award is an award designed to recognize an industry leader who has made outstanding contributions to the remarketing industry.

New to this year was a golf tournament that took place the day after the Roundtable ended. The golf tournament was in memorial of Kenny Osborn.
