In the past five years, the U.S. market has seen consumer preference shift from small sedans to larger SUVs and crossovers. Vehicles that used to have strong showings at auction are now seeing lower selling prices.

The next five years could see similar shifts, and remarketers wanting to get the most value out of current and future vehicles need to have a solid understanding of where the industry is going.

The Auto Auctions of Tomorrow session at the Conference of Automotive Remarketing at Caesars Palace Las Vegas on March 6 to 7 aims to tackle those issues. Glenn Mercer, an automotive analyst that has been in the industry for over 30 years, will lead the session that will forecast how the auction industry will change in the next five to 10 years, based on input from a variety of experts working in the industry.

One of the main aspects that will be examined will be how the coming changes to the automotive industry will impact how vehicles will be remarketed in the future. The session will take place on the second day of the conference.
