MT. ARLINGTON, NJ - The IARA's Summer Roundtable held Aug. 10-11 in Denver at the Hyatt Regency Downtown was one the largest attended with more than 150 remarketing professionals in attendance. Matt Marks, executive director, said he received many compliments on the meeting including those who said the meeting is the best in the industry for practical content.

Topics at the meeting included standardizing vehicle certifications by working with the NAAA and improving title handling in the total loss segment. Industry panels included the popular dealers panel, an auction General Managers panel, and an online systems technology panel looking ahead to where we will be five years hence.

The meeting was opened by Scott Klososky, a social media futurist who opened our eyes with what's being done with social media.

Tom Kontos, chief economist for ADESA, was our luncheon keynote speaker who gave us a view of the next six months.

The IARA awarded its Special Recognition Award to Dan Heinrich, Americredit, for his seventeen years service, along with his wife, in helping out the Ronald McDonald's Charity Foundation.

The next IARA meeting will be March 9, 2011, in Las Vegas in conjunction with the CAR Conference.


The IARA Winter Roundtable Reception was well-received by conference attendees.
