BEL AIR, MD – Adding to a growing list of successes, BSC America’s Bel Air Auto Auction was recognized as a top performer in 2009 for both ARI and OVE. The auction was named Regional Auction of the Year for ARI and received a recent award from www.ove.com as one of its Most Innovative Auctions in the country.

Rewarding auctions for outstanding performance is an extension of ARI’s Partners in Excellence program that strives to produce high quality results through strong business relationships. Each auction is measured on overall market performance, administration and communication. Benchmarking includes days to pickup, complete condition report, sell and receive funds as well as achievement against Black Book Commercial Index and compliance with company guidelines.

Jennifer Schade, vehicle remarketing manager for ARI indicated this is the second year in a row that Bel Air Auto Auction has received the award from ARI, in spite of the fact they were moved to a new region for 2009.

“We are both honored and thrilled to be recognized as one of ARI’s top auctions in the country for the second year running,” said Michelle Nichols-Neff, vice president of Bel Air Auto Auction. “We value our relationship with ARI and work hard to provide a level of service that surpasses expectations in all areas of auction sales and operations.”

“We also congratulate Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction and Missouri Auto Auction, fellow ServNet-auctions who were also named ARI Auctions of the Year for their respective regions,” said Nichols-Neff, noting that ServNet auctions took three of the six top awards in this year’s Partners in Excellence Program.

Nichols-Neff was also pleased to announce that Bel Air Auto Auction received an Otto Award from www.ove.com at a gala awards ceremony held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas during recent NAAA/CAR Conference.

The Otto Awards, named for www.ove.com’s ferret mascot, honor brick and mortar auctions throughout the country for being outstanding partners. They are presented to two separate winners, one Manheim auction and one independent auction in each of five categories. Bel Air Auto Auction received the Otto Award as Most Innovative Auction, along with Manheim’s Central Florida Auto Auction.

“An online presence is an increasingly critical part of market exposure, and we continue to look for ways to broaden online attendance and expand online buying activity at our weekly sales,” said Nichols-Neff. “We appreciate our partnership with www.ove.com as a way to offer an important additional remarketing channel for our customers.”

Bel Air Auto Auction manages the flow of more than 75,000 vehicles a year. Handling consignments from dealers and private business fleets as well as those from public service and government agencies, Bel Air Auto Auction sells on six auction lanes every Thursday. The auction is strategically located on 50-plus acres near I-95, just 17 miles from Baltimore and 80 miles from Philadelphia and provides a wide range of auto-related services, including floor planning, storage, transportation, Internet sales, full reconditioning, and certification.
