ROBSTOWN, TEXAS – Sparkling City Auto Auction is taking the market by storm, winning AmeriCredit’s Auction of Excellence Award for the Southwest Region and heating up activity in the lanes with its first big promotion of 2009. Labeled “Spring Break Madness”, the promotion culminated on May 19, when the auction held drawings for two major prizes: an ’09 Kawasaki Jet Ski and $1,000 in Cash.
Auction Owner Wade Walker reports that beginning with the sale on March 3 dealers in the lane qualified for the jet ski every time they bought or sold a vehicle. At the end of each week’s sale, roll was called, and only those dealers present were allowed to keep their entries for the day in the drawing. Any dealer not present at roll call lost all entries and started all over again at the next sale attended.
Winning names for both the jet ski and the $1,000 Cash were drawn at the conclusion of the sale on Tuesday, May 19, which featured a special consignment of vehicles from AmeriCredit, represented by Dan Heinrich. All dealers buying from AmeriCredit that day received double entries for the drawings for both the jet ski and the $1,000 prize. Sparkling City planned the promotion to celebrate the Auction of Excellence Award it received from AmeriCredit for the first quarter of 2009.
Other major consignors on May 19 included Texas Car Title, United Acceptance, ARI, Eddie Yaklin Ford Lincoln Mercury, Fleet Lease Disposal, Mike Shaw Toyota, Sames Crow Ford, Stanley Bryan Olds-Buick and Access Ford.
The auction recorded a record number of entries for both drawings, as attendance and buying activity have been on the upswing at Sparkling City Auto Auction in recent months.
“We’ve been very pleased with the activity in the lanes since the first of the year, and planned this promotion to build the momentum,” said Walker. “We have learned that these kinds of promotions benefit our customers across the board: buyers are rewarded and sellers see increased activity in their lanes.”
Sparkling City Auto Auction is located in Robstown, Texas, just outside of Corpus Christi, and serves the southeastern Texas region. Dealer auctions are held each Tuesday at its new, modern 4 lane facility, where consignments from dealers, fleet and lease companies and financial institutions are offered each week.
