CARMEL, IN – Tom Caruso has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) for ADESA’s entire auction operations throughout the United States. Caruso will report directly to ADESA President and CEO Jim Hallett.

“In the past, our U.S. operations have been divided into two regions, east and west,” Hallett said. “However, during this past year, ADESA has placed a heavy focus on standardizing all of our auction processes. So, I felt it was timely that we support these initiatives by standardizing our auction reporting structure under one consistent voice for the entire country.”

Caruso has nearly 30 years experience in the auto auction industry. He began his career in 1980 at Concord Auto Auction, and when ADESA purchased this auction in 1992, Caruso continued in his role as general manager. It was under his leadership that this auction was relocated and renamed ADESA Boston, which remains ADESA’s largest U.S. auction today. In 2000, Caruso was appointed regional vice president before being promoted to executive vice president of operations, U.S. eastern region, upon Hallett’s return in 2007.
