ATLANTA – Manheim's wholesale used-vehicle prices (on a mix, mileage, and seasonally adjusted basis) inched up in April. Prior to the seasonal adjustment, wholesale prices were off 0.9 percent for the month. The Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index reading was 114.2 in April, the same as a year ago.

The ability of wholesale prices to remain firm as the overall economy and new vehicle market decelerated is a testament to the used-vehicle market's stability, the continued ability of dealers to earn money on the retail sale of used vehicles, and the manufacturers' resolve to keep both new vehicle inventories and incentives in line.
