ATLANTA – Manheim’s Total Resource Auctions (TRA) has formed TRA Logistics, a new department that will provide insurance companies and commercial consignors a one-call solution for their nationwide remarketing needs.

TRA Logistics was developed to provide a single-point-of-contact remarketing product. It provides a national selling network of both salvage and whole-car marketplaces, giving consignors the opportunity to maximize returns by utilizing the markets and technology that best fit the product. TRA Logistics also provides TRA auctions the tools and infrastructure to provide remarketing services to regional consignors with inventory located outside their territory.

“This service is tailored to meet the needs of insurance carriers and commercial organizations that frequently remarket vehicles that have been subject to collision, theft, vandalism, and catastrophic loss,” said Michael Lasini, vice president of sales for TRA. “The longer it takes to recover, recondition, and remarket those vehicles, the higher the depreciation loss. TRA Logistics speeds up this process to save our customers money and time and leverage higher returns.”

Inventory can be assigned by Web, e-mail, fax, or phone. TRA Logistics will then manage the process to get the vehicle released from storage, transported to a TRA location, and secured at auction all within 24 hours in most cases. Customers will also have 24/7 Internet access to their inventory on www.autoims.com.

Brandy Thompson serves as TRA Logistics manager. She has eight years of auction experience with Manheim serving commercial consigners in the fleet lease business as well as administering Online Vehicle Exchange (OVE) services to buyers and sellers.

TRA will soon offer sellers another selling channel in addition to live Simulcast- enhanced auctions. TRA will make available an online selling platform that will offer inventory, which may or may not be located on auction property, 24 hours a day, seven days a week in an electronic auction-style setting.
