ATLANTA – Manheim has acquired the Auction City Inc. – Halifax auction in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The facility will be renamed Manheim’s Auction City – Halifax and is the company’s first acquisition in Canada since purchasing the Oshawa Dealer Exchange in Courtice, Ontario, in 1988.

The auction becomes Manheim’s third Canadian facility, joining the Oshawa auction and the Toronto Auto Auctions acquired in 1982.

The auction holds a regular consignment sale on Wednesdays and a quarterly government/municipal sale.

The former owners of the Halifax auction, which was launched in 2001, will join Manheim as part of the acquisition. Wayne MacDonald has been named general manager of the facility and Gordon McComb has been named Manheim’s vice president of special projects/Canada.
