ATLANTA – Manheim’s West Palm Beach Auto Auction in West Palm Beach, Fla., hosted the first “Hundred Grander” sale of 2006 March 14, bringing in more than $4.5 million in sales.

The sale featured 67 vehicles valued at more than $100,000 each, including three Rolls-Royce vehicles from BMW Financial Services and a red Ferrari that was driven by actor Nicolas Cage in the movie “Face/Off.” Other vehicles offered at the sale included Bentleys, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and Aston Martins.

Of the 150 dealers who attended the auction, there were 19 active buyers at the sale. Vehicles were also sold to three buyers via Manheim’s Simulcast. The average selling price of the units sold at the auction was $138,000, with a 2005 Ferrari 430 selling at the highest price at $292,000.

West Palm Beach Auto Auction rolled out the red carpet in the lane that featured the elite nameplate vehicles at the “Hundred Grander” sale. Dealers who attended the auction, which was decorated with a beach theme, were served frozen beverages, shrimp, and hand-passed hors d’oeuvres. In appreciation for their business, participating dealers received a Highline shirt from West Palm Beach Auto Auction.

Two additional vehicles from the “Hundred Grander” sale were sold at West Palm Beach Auto Auction’s monthly Exotic Highline Sale, which was held the following day.

Upcoming “Hundred Grander” sales scheduled for 2006 include Manheim Auto Auction April 19, and Greater Nevada Auto Auction in December.
