ATLANTA – Wholesale used vehicle prices (mix, mileage, and seasonally adjusted) declined by 0.5 percent in March. The Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index now stands at 114.9, representing an increase of 2.4 percent for the past year and a rise of 12.2 percent from the cyclical trough that occurred in April of 2003.
The recent movement in wholesale used vehicle prices is a response to the earlier strong gains in pricing, the modest and early tax refund season, and the continued economic recovery that has provided a base for retail demand.
