AUBURN HILLS, MI – Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star dealers sold a new December record of 10,463 Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPOV) in 2005, a 6 percent increase from December 2004 sales of 9,835 units and a 22 percent gain over November 2005 sales. Fourth-quarter sales rose 3 percent to 27,184 units, surpassing the fourth-quarter sales record in 2004 of 26,439 units and making this December the second-best month and quarter of 2005. Year-to-date sales also set a new record with 107,804 units, topping year-to-date sales last year by 8 percent.

Chrysler brand pulled ahead of the group this December with a 15 percent increase to 3,312 units. Jeep sales increased 8 percent on the year to 2,542 units while Dodge sales were flat compared to last year at 4,609 units.

For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used-vehicle program, it must be a 2000- through 2006-model pre-owned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles and pass a 125-point inspection. Chrysler Group's CPO vehicles are backed by an 8-year/80,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, a 3-month or 3,000-mile Maximum Care warranty, 24-hour, 365-day full roadside assistance, $35 per day rental car allowance, and a Carfax Vehicle History Report.
