TORRANCE, CA – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., has selected Carfax as a key component in the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle (TCUV) and Scion Certified Pre-owned (CPO) programs.

Beginning December 1, 2005, Carfax Vehicle History Reports will be required in the Toyota and Scion certification process. In fact, vehicles cannot be deemed “Toyota or Scion Certified” without a Carfax Vehicle History Report. In addition to meeting Toyota’s quality standards, each vehicle must qualify for the Carfax Buyback Guarantee, indicating the vehicle history does not contain any DMV-reported incidents (salvage, fire, flood, odometer problems, or manufacturer buyback). Complete terms and conditions are available at www.carfax.com.

TCUV dealers have sold more than 1.5 million certified used vehicles. Every certified Toyota and Scion vehicle must undergo a 160-point quality assurance inspection to meet Toyota’s mechanical and appearance specifications. Each certified vehicle is covered by a 3-month/ 3,000-mile comprehensive warranty and a seven-year/ 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. All Certified Toyota and Scion cars will include a free Carfax Vehicle History Report.
