ATLANTAwww.AutoTrader.com has promoted Alan Smith to VP, customer service and Craig Hunt has been promoted to regional VP – West.

In the newly created position, Smith will oversee the customer service teams responsible for caring for all of AutoTrader.com's customers, including dealers, national accounts, consumers, and field and classifieds sales teams. He will report directly to President and CEO Chip Perry.

Smith has 13 years of sales experience at Trader Publications, Trader Online, and AutoConnect, which became AutoTrader.com. Smith was one of the original AutoTrader.com employees in 1999 and has held several key senior management positions in Dealer Sales. After leading the South region to the top position in the company, he moved to the West region and under his leadership, it also became the number one region. For the past year, Alan has been responsible for the West, Southwest and Mid-West regions as regional VP - West.

Hunt will oversee all aspects of sales, service, revenue and expense for the Western half of the U.S. Hunt will report directly to Hal Greene, senior VP of Sales.

Hunt had more than 30 years of sales and sales management experience in the commercial property-casualty insurance industry before joining AutoTrader.com in 1999. Sine then, he has occupied key positions in sales at AutoTrader.com; as district manager, Hunt led the Dallas District to the top district in the company and as regional director, he led sales trends upward in the Southwest, Mid-Atlantic, and South regions.

Hunt attended Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., and received a CIC industry designation from the University of Virginia.

In other Sales personnel news, Roger Hilterbrandt, former regional director for the Mid-Atlantic region, will assume Hunt’s previous role as regional director in the South region. Bob Landers has been promoted to the role of regional director for the Mid-Atlantic.
