The National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) has recognized an executive from KAR Auction Services and an executive from Cox Automotive as its 2019 Warren Young Fellows.

Being named as a Warren Young Fellow recognizes an individual for his or her role in developing and promoting safety initiatives for the auto auction industry.

The recipients of the recognition were David Vignes, KAR Auction Services president of remarketing services, and Kenny Jones, Cox Automotive Safety and Environmental senior director.

Vignes has been with ADESA since 2007, and one of his most notable safety initiatives was developing the Safe T. Sam training program. The course consists of short instruction videos that display proper safety procedures. The corresponding Safe T. Sam mascot also played a large part in the course's success.

Jones has spent the last 19 years of his career advocating safety in the wholesale remarketing industry. Initiatives he has led at Manheim include a driver training program that led to NAAA's initial education video offering, "Cycle of Safety, according to NAAA.

Recently in 2018, Jones oversaw a campaign that successfully resulted in all Manheim auto auctions becoming 100% safety certified.
