Manheim has launched a new digital dealer sales channel on its OVE platform that will allow dealers to host digital event sales using inventory on their lots without having to move the vehicles to an auction location, the Cox Automotive company announced.
The Dealer Direct Event channel is a nod to growth Manheim has seen in the past year in volume of its offsite auctions, which has increased 50% year-over-year. Other off-site Manheim tools include Digital Assurance and mobile auctions. This year, these solutions will drive more than 100,000 transactions with more than 20,000 dealers participating.
Manheim has been seeing success with its mobile auctions program. Manheim sends a mobile trailer to dealers who have at least 100 units to sell but don't have a nearby Manheim location.
"Mobile Auctions generate the highest sales rates among all Manheim channels — nearly 70% — and dealers tell us that they enjoy more profits from these sales," added Alan Lang, division vice president at Manheim.
