Spring is in the air at Plaza Auto Auction of Iowa, and the auction is celebrating with its first Powersports Sale of the Year, set for March 25.  Owner Mark Greb reports that after a long, cold winter, temperatures have climbed into the mid 60’s, and the market is primed for RV’s, boats and motorcycles.

“Our first Powersports Sale of 2015 is shaping up to be a fantastic event,” Greb said. “We’re expecting well over 125 units, including group of 20 Harley Davidsons that are sure to catch the attention of everyone attending the sale.  We’ll also have a great group of RVs, motor homes, four-wheelers, and boats, and there’s even a race car in the mix. “

Greb reports that the Powersports sale will begin at 5:30 on March 25, an hour before the Plaza’s regular consignment sale.  Unlike most Powersports sales at other locations, every unit crosses the block at Plaza. Motorized units are driven and trailers are pulled through, so that dealers can be sure that all are in running order.

“We check the slide-outs on the campers, test the generators, and write up condition reports on every unit,” Greb said. “Dealers come to our Powersports sale from all over the Midwest, because they know we have a great selection, and they have confidence in both the quality of our inventory and in level of service they receive here at Plaza Auto Auction of Iowa.”

Customers will be treated to Plaza’s famed barbecue cookout as they preview the Powersports units, enjoying bratwurst, chips, beans and (root) beer.

Greb is also pleased to announce the addition of Bill McCroskey to the sales team at Plaza Auto Auction of Iowa.  “The market is off to a great start in 2015, and we’re in the fortunate position of adding to our staff so that we can service our growing customer base,” said Greb.  “We’re very happy to welcome Bill McCroskey to our auction team, and appreciate the experience he brings with him. His experience in the retail side of the car business (he owned a GM dealership in the area) is invaluable to us as we continue to distinguish Plaza Auto Auction of Iowa as one of the leading independent auctions in the region.”

Founded in 1963, Plaza Auto Auction has distinguished itself as the largest evening sale in the Midwest, holding an auction on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. The auction offers over 500 vehicles for sale weekly, across five auction lanes with monthly specialty sales for trucks and motorsports. Along with consignments from new and used car dealers throughout the Midwest, Plaza Auto Auction of Iowa features vehicles from a number of regional and national fleet/lease and repo accounts, including PHH, Flexco Fleet Services, University of Iowa Community Credit Union, Emkay, Veridian Credit Union, Avis/Budget, Remarketing Solutions, Enterprise, and Fleet/Lease Disposal.
