In 2013, just months after a heart attack, Ed was tailgating with his son Ty and other friends and family at the Michigan/Michigan game (Spartans were victorious 29-6).

A fishing trip with son Ty was one of the year's highlights.

Though his L.A. Dodgers occasionally let him down, he had season tickets for years and would always attend opening day.

Without a doubt, an annual trip Ed took to Kona, Hawaii with fleet friends was one of his favorite things to do. After the loss of his dear friends Don Fenton, Milo Matick, and George Weimer, it was never quite the same.

The apron says it all. Ed enjoyed an icy beverage, only more so when combined with a cigar and "the game" on the tv.

One year, the company took its Christmas party to the bowling alley and Ed could strike with the best of them.

One of our company's favorite traditions were quarterly "parking lot picnics," which we enjoyed year-round. The Bobits would recognize milestone anniversaries, award prizes, and occasionally even man the grill themselves.

Ed Bobit was a fleet icon, and here some "devotees" bow before his image.

Once yearly, Bobit Business Media held an awards ceremony for sales, editorial (named "The Eddys"), and the "Chairman's Award" for best company department. He was never so happy as giving out awards for outstanding feature-writing and especially sales milestones.

An early family photo. Talk about outsize pleasures: There were still two more children yet to be born.

Aside from his family and the company, Ed lived to root for MSU and attended many games every year since he attended school there.
