The IARA’s new Social Media Committee has been bolstering the Alliance’s social media presence across three different platforms this year, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

As of early July, IARA’s Linkedin group has 82 members; IARA’s Linkedin page has 71 followers; IARA’s Twitter account has 102 followers; and IARA’s Facebook page has 114 followers. By continuing to grow the Alliance’s following across different social media platforms, Alliance members will be able to keep the conversation going after conferences, according to the committee.

“The purpose of the IARA Social Media Committee is to keep our members abreast of what is going on in the organization and the industry. We’re taking the topics that are brought up in our conferences and bringing them back home and having discussions on social media,” said Katie Rushing, national remarketing manager at Southeastern Auto Auction, and chair of the Social Media Committee.

The committee has also collaborated with other IARA committees this year to spread any news those committees have wanted to share.

Earlier this year, the IARA board of directors approved a budget for the Social Media Committee, allowing the committee to boost promotions for the upcoming Summer Roundtable.
