IARA membership, which is based on company membership, has been growing at a steady clip in 2017. As of early July, paid membership stood at 189. The goal before this New Year’s bells chime is to reach 200 paid member companies, according to the IARA Membership Committee.

One initiative that will facilitate that goal is the new IARA web system. The new web system, according to Wright, allows for online membership renewal.

Going forward, the committee plans to focus on various consignor segments of the industry, noting recent additions from the rental car industry, Hertz and Sixt as examples.

“Credit unions and small finance companies can greatly enhance their vehicle remarketing efforts by becoming members of IARA,” Wright said.

The committee is chaired by Kim Hunt, senior director at Cox Automotive Inc. and Tom Wright, national sales manager, institutional sales, XLerate Group.
