PEARL, MS - Mid-South Auction, a member of the American Auto Auction Group (AAAG) has been cited for Operational Excellence by General Motors.  The auction received the GM Operational Excellence Award for the second quarter of 2011, topping all other auctions in its region. Drew Poirrier, remarketing specialist for General Motors, made the presentation at the auction on December 20, 2011.

"General Motors' Operational Excellence Award is designed to recognize GM-sponsored auctions that perform consistently well in a variety of measurements," stated Dan Kennedy, manager of remarketing for General Motors. "The criterion includes preparation of GM FrontLine Ready and GM Sponsored Plus vehicles, the number of GM dealers attending and purchasing at the auction, online dealer participation, and administration of the General Motors account."

Poirrier presented the award to Bob Sullivan, Mid-South Auction's Vice President and General Manager; Glyn Morden, the auction's Factory Manager; and Joseph Quick, Mid-South's Operations Manager.

"We are proud to be an auction partner for General Motors and Ally Remarketing in this region, as our team works diligently to not just to 'meet', but to 'exceed', the expectations of both General Motors and the dealers who attend our auction to purchase GM vehicles," said Sullivan in accepting the award.  "Being distinguished as the leader in operations for GM in our region is a thrill and honor for every one of us at Mid-South Auction.  We appreciate General Motors' recognition of our efforts on their behalf and pledge to continue to distinguish our auction as a leader for General Motors in our market."
