TORONTO – Manheim Toronto was recently recognized by the Milton Chamber of Commerce as the 2008 Large Business of the Year. This honor was given at the Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Gala held April 4 at the Granite Ridge Golf Club.

Manheim Toronto was chosen to receive the award because of its contributions to the community, corporate citizenship, high business and ethics standards, and innovative products and services. “We care deeply about contributing to the communities we call home,” said Brad Hart, general manager of Manheim Toronto. “We strive to make differences as leaders – in and outside of the workplace — by contributing to our communities, creating a great place for our employees to work, and developing innovative products and services to help our customers succeed.”

“We are truly honored to receive this award,” said Patrick Brennan, vice president, operations, Manheim Canada. “I’m extremely proud of our team and their dedication and commitment to make Manheim Toronto not only one of Canada’s premier auction operations, but an example of outstanding business operations in general.”

As part of the honor, the Manheim Toronto team also received awards and recognition from a number of political and business leaders in attendance, including Member of Provincial Parliament Ted Chudleigh, Mayor Gord Krantz, Halton Regional Chairman Gary Carr and Member of Parliament Lisa Raitt, Canada’s minister of Natural Resources.

Manheim Toronto is located in Milton, a Toronto suburb, and is one of five Manheim operating locations in Canada. The auction was acquired by Manheim in 1982.
