Alliance Auto Auction will build its fifth auction facility in Texas — a six-lane facility on the northeast side of Austin, the company's CEO has announced.

A groundbreaking ceremony has been set for this month at the site, which is at the corner of SH130 and Chandler Road. Alliance Auto Auction now operates auction facilities in Abilene, Dallas, Longview, and Waco.

"This brand-new facility will give us the opportunity to showcase what 'joining the alliance' is all about," said Tim Adams, CEO of the company that was founded in the state in 2011.

The Austin facility should have a soft opening at the end of this year and a grand opening gala in early 2020. The company hopes to eventually grow to 12 locations.

Alliance auctions sell mostly dealer vehicles, but the company does maintain several commercial and fleet accounts, said CFO Christopher Dean.

"We are a high touch, very personally driven team that makes every customer the most important," Dean said. "It doesn't matter if they represent one car or 100 cars."

In other news, the company also appointed Bob Bannister general manager of the Dallas operation and Mike Bohannon general manager in Waco. Bannister was the ADESA Dallas assistant general manager.
