Tim Janssen, the retired president of IFS (Innovative Funding Services LLC), passed away on Aug. 14 in Largo Vista, Texas. He was 55. Janssen founded IFS in 2007 and served as president of IFS for more than 12 years until his retirement in Jan. 1.
Dave Angelicchio died on July 7 after battling cancer for three years.
John Fuller, founder of NextGear Capital, died Wednesday at age 75, the company announced. Fuller is known throughout the auto retail industry as an innovator in the floorplanning segment, having founded and sold Automotive Finance Corp. and Dealer Services Corp., the latter to Manheim.
Kathy Ward, past president and CEO of Canadian Black Book, passed away on Dec. 24 after multiple years of fighting cancer. She was 60.
Greg Janik, president of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) from 1986-1987, passed away on Sept. 8. He was 74. Janik was a long-time member of AFLA and a strong supporter of the fleet industry.
Jim McNulty, past president of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) and more recently the owner of Lone Star Auto Auction in Lubbock, Texas, passed away on March 9, 2017, from complications of esophageal cancer.
Mark Hopkins, long time employee and national accounts manager for the Dealers Auto Auction Group, a division of City Enterprises, LLC., passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 1, 2016. He was 65.
Ed Bobit, founder and chairman of Bobit Business Media, and publisher of Automotive Fleet magazine and many other media brands, passed away June 29 at the age of 86.
The burial for Matt Marks, former executive director for the IARA, will take place May 21 at Arlington Cemetery.
