Andy White beat out a field of 15 finalists in the final round of the 2017 World Automobile Auctioneers Championship, claiming the title of 2017 Automobile Auctioneer World Champion and taking home $12,500 in prize money, according to a Manheim announcement.
ARI presented its "ARI Auctioneer of Distinction" award for dedication to the fleet services provider and dealers in the auction lane.
The event showcases more than 100 competitors battling for top honors across three categories – best auctioneer, best ring person, and best two-person team – as well as $25,000 in prize money.
Ben DeBrushl, a Fredericksburg, Va.-based auctioneer, came out on top of a field of 65 competitors to win the title at the 2014 World Auto Auctioneers Championship, held May 9 at ADESA Boston auto auction in Framingham, Mass.
