KAR Auction Services, Inc. has hired Tom Fisher as its chief information officer and executive vice president, according to a company announcement. In this position, he will be responsible for overseeing KAR’s information technology strategy, operations and activities.

In addition, he will design and implement an enterprise strategy that will leverage KAR’s technology assets in order to more rapidly deploy the company’s insights and product solutions, the company stated.

He will report to Jim Hallet, KAR's chairman and CEO.

“For nearly two decades, Tom has been at the forefront of designing and implementing technology solutions that improve the customer experience,” said Hallett. “His proven track record of success across multiple international industries makes him uniquely qualified to lead the next stage of KAR’s digital transformation. Tom’s addition to our organization and leadership team is a huge win for our company and our customers.”

Most recently, Fisher served as senior vice president of cloud operations and general manager at Genesys, a provider of customer experience platform solutions. Before that he served as director of systems of engineering, vice president of global sales operations and engineering, and CSO for Interactive Intelligence, a publicly traded software and cloud developer.
