Car segments depreciated at nearly double the percentage of trucks during the week of July 25, with overall car values decreasing 0.47%. This is similar to the average depreciation rate of 0.46% of the previous four weeks.

Mid-Sized Car segments and Compact Crossover/SUV segments saw the greatest depreciation during the week. Mid-sized segments dropped 0.91%, while Compact Crossover/SUV segments dropped 0.48%, according to Black Book's most recent market report.

“The wholesale market values continue to depreciate at a humdrum pace as dealers report slow sales in retail,” said Anil Goyal, senior vice president of automotive valuation and analytics.

Overall truck values decreased by 0.26% last week. This is slightly better than the average change of a 0.35% decline seen in the previous four weeks.
