FREDERICK, MD – John Rea, managing partner of Rea Brothers Mid-South Auto Auction, Pearl, Miss., was elected president of the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA). The presidential gavel was passed during the association’s annual convention held in Chicago this September. Rea began his career in 1972 at his family-owned auction business. For more than 20 years, he and his business have been an active association member.

Rea previously served as the association’s 2007 president elect, and in 2006 as vice president. In addition to his present presidential role, he leads a NAAA Technology Task Force that is currently working on a single source, auction inventory, access portal for wholesale buyers and sellers.

NAAA 60th Anniversary occurs during Rea’s presidential term. NAAA’s has 373 auction member businesses operating in 18 countries, with more than 92 million remarketing transactions over the past 10 years.
