Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) announced a record sales year for its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle program. With total sales of 27,239 vehicles, 2012 was the most successful sales year for Mazda’s recently revamped CPO program.

In addition to record sales, Mazda also posted a year-over-year increase in CPO market share to 1.5 percent and a total increase in CPO vehicle sales of 43.5 percent, which drastically outpaced the industry’s average increase of 5.3 percent.  Mazda also realized a 50.6 percent increase in CPO vehicle sales for the month of December, which gave the manufacturer a 1.8 percent market share, a YOY increase of 0.6 for the month.

“We want our customers to know that Mazda vehicles are not only stylish and fun-to-drive, but they also retain their value,” said Ron Stettner, vice president of sales, MNAO.  “Through our 150-point inspection, warranty and AutoCheck Buyback Protection, our CPO program is designed to instill confidence in our customers.

Mazda recently added extra value to its Certified Pre-Owned program by adding a 3-year repurchase guarantee through the AutoCheck Buyback Protection. Available at no extra cost to consumers, if AutoCheck reports a clean title and later the vehicle is found to have a certain title brand, AutoCheck will repurchase that vehicle from the customer (up to 110 percent of the NADAguides.com published retail value) plus coverage of up to $500 in aftermarket accessories.
