CENTREVILLE, VA – Carfax and its partner Zimmerman Advertising have received a Silver Effie Award for the "Show Me the Carfax" national advertising campaign. The two companies collaborated on the campaign that helps consumers buy used cars with more confidence and shop at dealerships that provide Carfax Vehicle History Reports for the cars they sell. Carfax and Zimmerman were recognized and presented with the coveted award by Effie Worldwide during a reception on June 7 in New York City.

“We’re extremely honored to be recognized for this effort to empower used car shoppers,” said Dick Raines, president of Carfax. “Our mission is to provide information that helps people make better decisions about the used cars they buy and sell. With a great partner like Zimmerman Advertising, that message resonates with more consumers than ever through our ads in four simple, yet powerful words – ‘Show Me the Carfax’.

The Effie Awards recognize the most effective advertising campaigns in the U.S. each year. The ‘Show Me the Carfax’ campaign propelled unaided awareness of Carfax and consumer requests for Carfax Vehicle History Reports to an all-time high, nearly double since the campaign launched. In addition, the popular company mascot Car Fox originated from one of the initial campaign ads.

“Our efforts for Carfax focused on helping people buy and sell used cars with more confidence,” said Michael Goldberg, chief marketing officer for Zimmerman Advertising. “The success of this campaign is really the culmination of a talented team, supporting a fantastic product with an award-winning idea and one really cool Car Fox. Great work has to work great or it isn’t great at all. We are really honored to have our efforts recognized by the Effies.”

Consumers view free Carfax Reports provided by dealers online more than 85 million times a year and are given them up front at over 30,000 dealerships across North America. All of the current and former ad spots from the ‘Show Me the Carfax’ campaign are viewable on the Carfax YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/carfax.
