RICHMOND, VA – CarMax, Inc., a retailer of used cars, has received the 2011 Workplace Excellence Award for the seventh consecutive year. CarMax, which has more than 690 associates in the Greater Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas, was selected for this award by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence.

“Our associates continue to be the reason why CarMax is an excellent workplace,” said Tom Marcey, Mid-Atlantic regional vice president for CarMax. “Our culture was created and is cultivated by our associates, who retain a fun, family atmosphere that is embraced each day.”

The Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval recognizes visionary employers that view workplace excellence as a strategic business imperative. Award-winners are selected based on the merit of an application submitted to an Independent Review Panel.
