ARLINGTON, TEXAS – General Motors Financial Company, Inc. formerly known as AmeriCredit Corp., has named Sparkling City Auto Auction of Corpus Christi, Texas its top auction facility in the Southwest Region for 2010, as part of the company's nationwide Auction of Excellence program. Every year, AmeriCredit/GM Financial representatives review the performance of participating auctions in a variety of categories, including customer service, marketing promotions, pre-sale activities and overall auction success to select its regional and national leaders.
Sparkling City Auto Auction received two quarterly Auction of Excellence awards for its region last year prior to being named the regional leader for 2010. This is the second year in a row that Sparkling City has topped the Southwest Region for AmeriCredit/GM Financial.
"Sparkling City Auto Auction has strived to outperform all auctions in every aspect, always shooting for that '5' in every category of the performance review," said Dan Heinrich, AmeriCredit/GM Financial, Asset Remarketing, in making the award presentation. "Wade Walker and his staff are diligent in their attention to detail and commitment to superior performance. They work with outside vendors to lower costs, inspect every unit that comes back from the shop to ensure that it meets quality standards, and even have a small army touching up the details before the pre-sale walk. Their efforts have set them apart as a leader, and I congratulate Sparkling City Auto Auction of Corpus Christi as the 2010 Southwest Regional Auction of Excellence winner."
The award presentation was made during AmeriCredit/GM Financial's 2011 Auction Summit in Arlington, Texas on Feb. 18.
"Our motto at Sparkling City Auto Auction is 'Strive for FIVE' - a perfect score - and our entire staff has focused on meeting that goal," said auction owner Wade Walker, who represented the auction at the awards presentation along with his son, Ace Walker, outside operations manager for AmeriCredit/GM Financial, and his daughter, Ashley Walker Dietz, who handled inside operations for the remarketer last year. "From the moment their vehicles arrive at the auction, we serve as AmeriCredit/GM Financial's eyes for the inventory, and we take that responsibility very seriously. We are thrilled to be recognized as the top auction in the region for the second year running, and are determined to shine again in 2011."
Sparkling City Auto Auction is located in Robstown, Texas, just outside of Corpus Christi, and serves the southeastern Texas region. Dealer auctions are held each Tuesday at its new, modern four-lane facility, where consignments from dealers, fleet and lease companies and financial institutions are offered each week. Sparkling City Auto Auction is a member of the ServNet Auction group.
