ATLANTA – Manheim and Avis Budget Group are expanding the Avis Early Access rental vehicle remarketing program to eight new markets, following a successful beginning to the program at select Avis airport locations in six major markets. Dealers can now tap into the freshest possible rental vehicle inventory at a total of 14 Avis airport locations, including these new sites: Columbus/Dayton, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; Denver, Colo.; Detroit, Mich.; Houston, Texas; Newark, N.J.; San Francisco, Calif.; and St. Louis, Mo.

The Avis Early Access program is designed to reduce days-to-sell for Avis and increase the window of opportunity for dealers to buy fresh, VIN-specific inventory online straight from the rental lot.

“Our Avis Early Access program quickly proved that the collaboration with Manheim created a high-value program for both the operational needs of our airport locations as well as Manheim’s online buyers,” said Greg Thibault, vice president, fleet disposal, Avis Budget Group. “With eight additional locations, we’re pleased to present an even greater selection of Avis’ premium rental inventory during Manheim’s daily Online Event Sales.”

The Avis Early Access program virtually eliminates the need to transport vehicles from a rental location, such as an airport Avis rental lot, for inspection and subsequent sale. Instead, Early Access puts online selling tools at Avis’ fingertips by delivering a Manheim-approved listing service directly to Avis locations that positions inventory for selling success by capturing all the condition information that online buyers demand.

The Avis Early Access program rolled out in April of this year at Avis’ airport locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando and Pittsburgh. The success of these locations fueled the expansion to additional markets.
