TROY, MI – SmartAuction has announced a deal with Experian Automotive to screen daily SmartAuction’s entire online inventory. This audit, using Experian Automotive’s AutoCheck vehicle history services, will give wholesale buyers greater peace of mind when purchasing from the industry’s leading upstream remarketing Web site, according to SmartAuction.
Experian Automotive, utilizing its AutoCheck vehicle history information, will provide SmartAuction with a daily report covering frame damage, flood damage, fire damage, mileage reporting, and branded title information. When a vehicle is found to have a disclosure discrepancy, SmartAuction notifies the seller and the seller has the opportunity to either properly disclose the findings or remove the vehicle from the site.
“In the remarketing industry, there is no issue more critical to a successful operation than providing credible vehicle descriptions,” said SmartAuction Managing Director Mark Newman. “AutoCheck is a leading industry service for vehicle histories and compliments SmartAuction’s ability to deliver real value to our customers.”
SmartAuction typically has approximately 10,000 vehicles for sale daily. By using AutoCheck, Newman said the benefits will apply to both SmartAuction buyers and sellers.
“Given the thousands of vehicles we list, there are a couple dozen vehicles which may fall into these categories,” said Newman. “Most of the time, the selling dealer has properly disclosed any damage that exists. By adding AutoCheck, we are able to help preserve the online reputation of the dealer who may unknowingly list a trade-in or other vehicle that has an undisclosed issue. It’s a win for both sides.”
