CARMEL, IN – While ADESA Houston was able to avoid any significant damage from Hurricane Ike this week, the auction announced that it is postponing its weekly sale as much of the city is still in turmoil from the storm’s wrath. The auction has pushed back its sale this week — which is normally scheduled for Wednesday — to 10 a.m. (CDT) on Friday.

Although ADESA Houston reported that its vehicles and facilities were safe from major harm, much of area was not as fortunate. Many parts of the area still do not have power or phone lines, officials indicated. Cell phone towers have been wrecked; many side roads are closed due to tree damage; and gas is scarce. Also, many people are struggling to find open hotel rooms.
