CARMEL, IN — ADESA Lexington recently held its first Heavy Duty Truck and Equipment Sale. The sale featured more than 250 units ranging from semi-trailers and 18-wheeler trucks with trailers, to rollbacks, bulldozers, backhoes and Ditch Witch machinery. The sale was open to both dealers and the general public.

The staff at ADESA Lexington was pleasantly surprised by the attendance at its first sale of this type, particularly the large number of new customers.

“To my knowledge, there are no other heavy duty truck and equipment auctions held anywhere in Kentucky,” said ADESA Lexington General Manager Jason Martin. “We felt this type of sale would provide a much-needed service to not only the city of Lexington, but also to surrounding areas.”

This new sales format is the brainchild of Martin and ADESA Lexington’s Assistant General Manager, Todd Lomison. The two partnered with ADESA Atlanta to make this sale a reality.

“We worked closely with ADESA Atlanta’s Heavy Duty Truck Sales Manager Jimmy Jackson and ADESA Atlanta’s Regional Heavy Duty Truck Salesman J.D. Larsh to prepare for this sale,” said Lomison. “ADESA Atlanta is highly experienced in this type of sales format, and their guidance, training and insight was invaluable in helping make our first sale of this type a success.”

Martin concludes, “To say that we are excited about our first Heavy Duty Truck and Equipment Sale would be an understatement. Our entire team has truly embraced this challenge, and it shows with the results. For this first sale, the interest from the buyers has been tremendous. Our location makes us a natural fit for this piece of the business, and we are expecting this sale to continue to grow throughout 2008.”

ADESA Lexington plans to hold heavy duty truck and equipment sales on a quarterly basis with the next one slotted for February 2008. For more information, visit http://adesalexington.com.
