EUGENE, OR – The sales department at Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction has been restructured, which has resulted in promotions for Mark Melton and Ben Brasher.

According to General Manager Lisa Larkin, Melton will assume new duties as the auction’s general sales manager, with responsibilities for both the sales department and the fleet/lease/repo department. Filling Melton’s previous post as fleet/lease manager is Ben Brasher, who had been working at the auction as a territory sales representative.

Melton has worked for Brasher’s since 1998 when he joined the sales team at Brasher’s Cascade Auto Auction. After 18 months in Portland, he moved to Eugene to oversee the fleet/lease department at Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction, where he has been instrumental in building the fleet/lease consignment at the auction’s Wednesday sale.

Ben Brasher has been working at Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction handling the southern Oregon sales territory. He spent two years at Brasher’s Salt Lake Auction before moving to Eugene in 2005.

Larkin explained that the reorganization was spurred by the pending retirement of Marti Stone, who has served as the auction’s sales manager since 1992. She noted that Stone’s official retirement is Jan. 1, 2008, but that he will continue to work at the auction as a ringman at the weekly Wednesday sale. She indicated that, as part of the restructure, the auction has plans to hire two new sales representatives before the first of the year.

Brasher’s Northwest Auction runs an average of 500 units at its weekly consignment sale, averaging more than 65 percent sold. Brasher’s Northwest also hosts one of the leading RV sales in the West on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. The auction holds a public sale on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. The auction utilizes advanced technologies and is a participant member of http://AuctionPipeline.com, a Web initiative that provides auction customers with sales and market information as well as live, online bidding via Pipeline Simulcast.
