CHICAGO – Approximately 1,300 remarketing professionals attended the annual convention of the National Auto Auction Association held Sept. 18-21 at the Chicago Hilton Towers.

John Rea, owner of Rea Brothers’ Mid-South Auto Auction in Pearl, Miss., was named president of the National Auto Auction Association. He succeeds Outgoing President Gregg Kobel, owner of the Tri-State Auto Auction of Chicago.

Among the presenters were Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and Frank Abagnale Jr., who is best known for his forgery work and running from the FBI. Abagnale’s life story provided the inspiration for the feature film “Catch Me if You Can.”
