COLUMBUS, OHIO – Ohio’s new registrar of motor vehicles will be a featured speaker at the 51st Year Convention of The Ohio Vehicle Leasing Association May 24 at the Midwest Hotel & Convention Center in Columbus.
The announcement was made by OVLA President William Brough that Michael R. Rankin, Esq., who was named March 23 by new Ohio Gov. Ted W. Strickland to the position of Registrar of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
Rankin will be the first attorney to fill the spot and it will be the first appearance for Rankin before a trade association. He has more than 30 years legal experience, including both public and private service.
In Ohio the Bureau of Motor Vehicles is a part of the Ohio Department of Public Safety and is responsible for overseeing all motor vehicle dealers (new, used, leasing, salvage) and vehicle auctions as well as vehicle titling, vehicle registration, and driver licensing.
