BOISE, ID – More than 5,000 customers and fight fans packed Qwest Arena in downtown Boise for seven boxing bouts, which featured special appearances by boxing legends Sugar Ray Leonard and Larry Holmes, at Idaho Auto Auction’s seventh annual Big Frank’s Smoker Aug. 16-17.

Following the pattern of years past, fights were sandwiched between two rounds of auction action. The events kicked off a “pre-fight” afternoon sale featuring more than 600 units. More than 300 buyers registered for the afternoon sale and were treated to vehicles from GMAC, U.S. Bank, and Northeast Auto Acceptance. The following day, the Smoker Sale featured a record-breaking 2,500 units, including 600 bank units with an overall sales rate of nearly 70 percent. The sale brought in 40 new dealerships from as far away as Gwinnett, Ga.

The main event at Qwest Arena drew nearly 4,100 fight fans to an evening filled with food, fights, and the opportunity to meet boxing stars Sugar Ray Leonard and Larry Holmes. Leonard and Holmes signed autographs for the crowd and posing for pictures before Idaho Auto Auction employees and customers took to the ring for seven bouts of boxing. The highlight of the evening was when Kyle Durham of Dale’s Auto Sales, a crowd favorite, emerged victorious as this year’s Smoker Champion.
