TORRANCE, CA – According to industry sources, Auction Broadcasting Co. will sell its ABC Indianapolis auto auction to Manheim. The six-lane auction and reconditioning facility sits on 86 acres. In addition to a weekly consignment sale, ABC Indianapolis also holds a monthly heavy truck auction. The sale of ABC Indianapolis would make the third auction sold by Auction Broadcasting Co. in the past 15 months. Auction Broadcasting Company will operate seven auctions following the sale of ABC Indianapolis. They are ABC Atlanta, ABC Minneapolis, ABC Detroit/Toledo, ABC Southeast Florida, ABC Nashville, ABC Murfreesboro, and ABC West Michigan.
In March 2006, ADESA, Inc. acquired ABC's South Tampa used vehicle auction serving western and central Florida. The 61-acre facility consists of six auction lanes and a full reconditioning facility. ADESA renamed the auction ADESA Sarasota.
In April 2005, ADESA, Inc., acquired ABC Washington Dulles, LLC located in Sterling, Va. The 87-acre leased facility near the Washington Dulles International Airport was renamed ADESA Washington, D.C. The auction facility offers six fully automated auction lanes and full-service reconditioning facilities including body, detail, and mechanical shops. Auction Broadcasting Company opened the Washington Dulles facility for business in 2001.
