PORTLAND, OR – Freightliner LLC announced a leadership change at Freightliner Market Development Corporation (FMDC), Freightliner's used-truck business. Effective immediately, Bill Gordon, president of FMDC, will devote full-time efforts toward a significant, strategic project on behalf of Freightliner LLC. Gordon will be replaced by Rich Ferguson, FMDC's general manager of acquisitions and operations. Ferguson will report directly to Mark Lampert, senior vice president of sales, Freightliner LLC.
Gordon has worked for Freightliner LLC for 30 years. During his tenure he held several key finance positions, including corporate treasurer. In 1996, he was named FMDC's first president, and led the creation of SelecTrucks, Freightliner's used truck distribution network, which now has 41 outlets in the U.S. and Canada.
As the new president of FMDC, Ferguson plans to continue to build on Gordon's successes and further expand its used truck product offering.
Ferguson first joined Freightliner LLC in 1999 as a member of its treasury group and later served as CFO and vice president of finance for Orion Buses, the transit bus brand of DaimlerChrysler. In 2002, he became FMDC's general manager of acquisitions and operations.
