FREDERICK, MD – During the past four months, a National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) team consisting of Tom Caruso, NAAA president; Gregg Kobel, NAAA president rlect; John Rea, NAAA vice president; Jim DesRochers, chairman of the Board; and Frank Hackett, NAAA executive director discerned over applications of 93 families in need of assistance after the 2005 Gulf Coast hurricane devastations. To date, $170,000 has been distributed to those families.
Relief fund levels were given in ranges varying from $500 to $7,500, depending on the size of a family and the amount of damage impacting the applicable auction member, employee families. The NAAA team worked closely with auction members' general managers from Auto Auction of New Orleans, Louisiana's First Choice Auto Auction, Manheim Greater New Orleans Auto Auction, Lake Charles Auto Auction, Southwest Florida Auto Auction, and West Palm Beach Auto Auction.
