DETROIT – GM Certified Used Vehicles has launched a certification pre-sale consultation process for all GM Certified dealers.

The certification pre-sale consultation process is designed to ensure a consistent customer experience at all GM Certified Used Vehicles dealers across the nation. This initiative will create a continuous improvement process through ongoing dealership consultation and education.

GM Certified has teamed with Carcannon, an independent third-party consulting company, to implement the pre-sale consultation process. Carcannon is an automobile inspection and consultation services company.

The process will be managed by GM Certified, and will consist of Carcannon contacting GM Certified Used Vehicles dealerships to consult with their used-vehicle department staffs on a number of specific areas, including lot merchandising, vehicle inspection, and reconditioning requirements. This educational and consultative approach will enable GM Certified dealers to gain insight to help maximize the contribution of GM Certified at its dealership.

The Carcannon pre-sale consultation process is the latest manufacturer assurance available from GM Certified, following the recent announcement that consumers now receive Carfax Vehicle History Reports with delivery of their GM Certified Used Vehicle.

GM Certified Used Vehicles, which includes fully inspected and reconditioned, low-mileage used vehicles from Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile and GMC, sold nearly 455,500 units in 2005, an annual sales record for the manufacturer-certified pre-owned vehicle segment.

GM Certified Used Vehicles offers a network of 3,600-plus dealers across the United States, and an inventory of 70,000-plus units.
