CHICAGO – John Possumato, founder and vice chairman of Driveitaway, a leader in upstream remarketing programs for commercial fleet vehicles, recently launched an Internet blog, “Fleet-ing Thoughts: Adventures in the World of Automotive Fleet and Vehicle Remarketing.”

Active on the boards of several automotive fleet and remarketing trade associations, Possumato regularly meets with corporate fleet administrators and executives, and attends more than 30 fleet, remarketing, and automotive trade shows annually.

“Fleet-ing Thoughts is, I believe, the first blog devoted to automotive fleet and vehicle remarketing in the industry,” said Possumato.

“With so much attention paid to new cars and retail sales, I’m hoping to raise the profile of the importance of corporate fleet and the general remarketing of used vehicles. In my opinion, it took a long time for these sectors to be recognized as important by industry insiders, particularly the remarketing side of things. It’s time others had a view of the role these two areas have in the industry.

“It’s a blog for everyone who wants to or should know a bit more about this area — not only fleet managers or lessors, but the average corporate CFO or HR manager, or company car driver, as well.

“I hope Fleet-ing Thoughts will evolve into an informal, timely focal point for lively discussion on issues that affect all of us in this business. I’ll be reporting what I see in my travels, what customers are looking for, and who’s doing things in innovative ways. I’ll hope to hear from people with different points of view and who share my enthusiasm for this industry.”
