AUBURN HILLS, MI – Chrysler Group’s Five Star dealers sold a new November record of 8,600 Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPOV), an increase of 5 percent over November 2004 sales of 8,189 units and a 6 percent increase over October 2005 sales. Record year-to-date sales amounted to 97,353 units for 2005, an increase of 8 percent over year-to-date sales last year.

Chrysler brand leads the group with a 6 percent increase over November 2004, posting sales of 2,565 units. Dodge sales increased 3 percent to 4,032 units. Jeep brand sales declined 3 percent to 2,003 units; however, year- to-date sales are up 6 percent for the brand.

"Rising consumer confidence and favorable gas prices helped CPOV sales in November," said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group VP - Sales, Service and Parts Operations.

For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used-vehicle program, it must be a 2000 through 2006-model pre-owned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles and pass a 125-point inspection. Chrysler Group's Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles are backed by an eight-year/80,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, a three-month or 3,000-mile Maximum Care warranty, 24-hour, 365-day full roadside assistance, a $35 per day rental car allowance, and consumers are provided a Carfax vehicle title history report.

Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," Chrysler Group's Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles are sold only through Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge dealerships which have earned the Five Star Certification. Five Star Certification is a validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson and technician training accreditation, and customer satisfaction survey ratings. Approximately 2,400 Chrysler Group dealerships in the U.S. are certified Five Star dealers.
