EUGENE, OR – Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction hosted its First Annual Checkered Flag event Aug. 9 and 10 in Eugene. The event kicked off with Race Day and was followed by the auction’s biggest sale of the year.

Dealers and their families were invited to attend the festivities with a variety of racing activities for all ages, including adult-sized race carts, PlayStation racing games, a collector car show, live music, and steak dinner. Racers had the option to race for fun or competitively. Patsy Roberts was the race’s grand champion

Twenty-one collector cars were on display in the front parking lot and voting for people’s choice took place from 1-5 pm. The winners of the award were Dennis and Cheryl Huntley with their 1960 Chevy Corvette Convertible.

River City Rhythm and Blues led by Oregon’s Best Cars’ Vince Lombardo provided musical entertainment from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

After dinner, dealers took to the lanes for the Northwest Auto Auction’s first-ever night sale featuring Kendall Auto Group. Two lanes started at 6:30 with a total of 200 units including 50 certified over-aged units.

More than 1,240 units were consigned to the sale, featuring Bank of America, WFS Financial, Capital One, Oregon Community Credit Union, OSU Federal Credit Union, Reliable Credit, Oregon’s Best Cars, Lithia Auto Group, Kiefer’s Eugene Mazda, and Withnell Auto Group. Prize giveaways included a 2005 Yamaha Quad, two 42-inch plasma TVs, a Pocket Bike, four racing schools at Portland International Speedway, palm pilots, and a PlayStation Hot Seat Racing System.
